Bryggeri Skovlyst gør meget ud af at bruge ingredienser fra den skov bryggeriet ligger i. I deres JuleBryg er der brugt fyrrekviste fra Hareskovens fyrretræer. Fyrrenåle er tidligere forbeholdt skumbad, men nu har det altså fundet vej til øl. Og man kan retfærdigvis sige, at er der noget, der hører julen til, så er det i den grad fyrrekviste, så selvfølgelig skal det da i øllet.
Hvidt på samme måde som let forurenet sne. Altså ikke kridhvidt, men lidt "knækket" i farven.
Det hænger lidt op ad galssets sider og har en fin til halvgrov struktur på skalaen fin-halvgrov-grov.
Skummet har en fin fylde. Det betyder, at der er en nydelig skumhat, der ikke tager overhånd. Og så holder det ret godt.
Julebrunt, dvs. knapt så rødt som en cola men mere valnøddetræ-agtigt i farven og måske lidt fesen-rød. Ganske klart, også selv om det "kun" er grovfiltreret (måske vil de blot si de største fyrrenåle fra).
Der er mange små kulsyrebobler.
JuleBryg har en speciel og markant duft. Jeg skal se om jeg kan beskrive den. Forestil dig en maltet duft, som dog ikke er ret markant. Fyld noget bitterhed på - en lillebittesmule henad gær, ikke meget, men lidt - og ikke vældig meget humle. Koriander og krydderier i øvrigt.
Skovlyst foreslår også at øllet dufter af skovfyr og nødder, men jeg er nok mere tilbøjeligt til at beskrive det som skovbund en fugtig efterårsdag.

Men det tror jeg heller ikke er afgørende for oplevelsen, at man lige kan spotte fyrrekvistens bidrag til det samlede indtryk. Ideen er god og det endelige produkt er værd at prøve. Og prøve igen. Og igen.
